‘Creative Mixed Media Collage’ Workshop

In this brand new workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind mixed media collage using a variety of papers and textures.
You will also learn several techniques to create your own unique collage papers as well as using premade ones.
Let this be a relaxing, creative session where you can intuitively select your collage papers, colours and materials and then move into construction, adhesive techniques and finishing touches to bring your piece to life.
You can also choose to not only create a canvas piece but a collage wooden box.
Please note, your piece may look different from that pictured depending on what you choose to create.

The studio will be open from 9.45am.
Please be ready to start your workshop at 10.00am so that you don’t miss any important information.
Please Note: if you are late to class, you may be asked to wait until a suitable pause in tuition when your tutor will come and get you and catch you up so you do not interrupt the flow of the workshop.

Dani from Whimsical Creatives
Dani is the Founder/Director of Creativity at Whimsical Creatives and has been creating for over 20 years. Dani loves to teach and pass on her knowledge and she feels very grateful that people want to learn from her.
Skill Level:
All skill levels including beginners.
Participants must be 16+ years old (students who are 12+ may attend with a paying accompanying adult)
Cost:
$140 plus materials.
The workshop materials required will vary from student to student, based on what they choose to create.
We have therefore decided not to put together a kit or a materials fee but instead, students can bring materials from home (ie. the collage sheets made in previous workshops) or purchase items on the day.

All bookings require a non-refundable deposit to be secure, with the balance to be paid on the day of the workshop.
You also have the option of paying in full upfront.

Places are strictly limited as we run with small class sizes ensuring that all participants receive personalised attention from their tutor. At our workshops, you are not just a number!
What to Bring:
- Previously made collage papers (if you have any or purchase on the day).
- Anything you’d like to create your collages with (extra papers, fabric scraps, tissue, stamps, art materials etc.) – we will have some for use and purchase on the day but if you’d like to bring your own you are welcome to.
- An apron (optional – we will have some to borrow)
- Your lunch (or you can purchase this in town during your lunch break).
- Notebook/Pen/Pencil if you would like to take notes.
If you would like to book a position for this class, you can do so online (preferred, so we all have a copy of the transaction) or call Dani on 0412 662 179. Once you have booked in, you will receive a manual ‘Confirmation of Booking’ email approximately a week before the workshop which will include a booking reminder plus all the information you need for this workshop (you may need to check your spam or promotions folder as sometimes they end up in there!).
Extra Information Regarding COVID/Illness:
We ask that you remember that we are a small business run by someone with chronic illnesses. Many of our visitors are also immune compromised. Please do not visit the studio if you are unwell in any way. Thank you for your understanding.
Why Do a Workshop with Us?
Here’s what makes us different from other creative spaces.
- All our Tutors are experienced in teaching and have many years of experience working with their respective mediums/in their field of expertise – for most of our tutors this is over 15 years experience.
- Our workshop sizes are small with no more than 12 students.
- We provide a friendly, inviting space and cater for many challenges you may face (health issues, food intolerances, anxiety, etc.). Many of our students (and some of our tutors) suffer from chronic illness and have special needs. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to Dani who will do her best to help you out;
- We use only high quality materials/products in our workshops and myself and our Tutors are familiar with how these work and can give you accurate information/answers to your questions;
- Students are able to browse our 1500+ products and purchase if they wish to either before, during or after their workshop;
- We offer payment plan options on most workshops as we understand that finances can be tight (please email if you’d like to take advantage of this);
- We are fully insured and there is always someone on site who has a Level 2 first aid qualification and asthma management training. All tutors who are working with children have current, valid Working with Children Checks.
- We offer ‘after workshop’ support for all our students. Students can ask questions of our tutors and refresh any information they need to after the workshop via email, phone or in our Facebook group especially for students.
