‘The Cheeky Duck’ Watercolour Painting Workshop

We are so pleased to welcome watercolour artist Clare from Tog & Pini to the studio this semester.

Inspired by the gentle humour and playfulness of the natural world, this workshop will guide participants in painting a sweet A5 watercolour artwork featuring none other than a delightfully cheeky little duck.
This character is the heart of the session, making it a joyful, approachable theme for painters of all skill levels.

Participants will be introduced to techniques in layering, soft blending, and capturing expression in a gentle, illustrative style.

The workshop environment will be a warm, and welcoming one.
Beginner-friendly and ideal for anyone looking to reconnect with their creative side.

10.00am to 4.00pm

The studio will be open from 9.45am.
Please be ready to start your workshop at 10am so that you don’t miss any important information.

Please Note: If you are late to class, you may be asked to wait until a suitable pause in tuition when your tutor will come and get you and catch you up so you do not interrupt the flow of the workshop.

Clare Dunstan of Tog & Pini
Clare’s artistic practice is rooted in her love for animals and storytelling, which inspires her art. She have been working as an artist in a professional capacity for the past 15 years and has enjoyed exhibiting throughout Victoria and posting work across the globe. Watercolour is her ‘go to’ medium. She loves its fluid quality and how it behaves – sometimes unexpectedly – on the paper. She also enjoy making sculptures from mixed media, and found objects. Clare works from her home studio in leafy Research, Victoria, where her days are shared with her family and her menagerie of pets.

Skill Level:
This class is open to all skill levels.
Beginners are more than welcome and encouraged.
Students need to be 13+ to attend.

$145 all inclusive.

– Tuition – a guided, step-by-step demonstration

– A5 premium watercolour paper

– Use of brushes and palettes
– A list of all paints and brushes which can be purchased after the workshop if desired through Whimsical Creatives.

Extra Information Regarding COVID/Illness:
We ask that you remember that we are a home based business run by someone with chronic illnesses. Many of our visitors are also immune compromised. Please do not visit the studio if you are unwell in any way. Thank you for your understanding.

•  All our Tutors are experienced in teaching and have many years of experience working with their respective mediums/in their field of expertise – for most of our tutors this is over 15 years experience.
• Our workshop sizes are small with usually no more than 12 students.
• We provide a friendly, inviting space and cater for many challenges you may face  (health issues, food intolerances, anxiety, etc.). Many of our students (and some of our tutors) suffer from chronic illness and have special needs. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to Dani who will do her best to help you out;
• We use only high quality materials/products in our workshops and myself and our Tutors are familiar with how these work and can give you accurate information/answers to your questions;
• Students are able to browse our 1500+ products and purchase if they wish to either before, during or after their workshop;
• We offer payment plan options on most workshops as we understand that finances can be tight (please email if you’d like to take advantage of this);
• We are fully insured and there is always someone on site who has a Level 2 first aid qualification and asthma management training. All tutors who are working with children have current, valid Working with Children Checks.
• We offer ‘after workshop’ support for all our students. Students can ask questions of our tutors and refresh any information they need to after the workshop via email, phone or in our Facebook group especially for students.
