Using copper and brass sheet, we will explore the wonderful world of metal etching.
Metal etching is a process that removes material from a metal surface to create a design.
Using this method, you can create some beautiful patterns and images within your pieces pieces and then turn those pieces into anything you like – earrings, pendants, bracelet focals, suncatcher focals….the choice is yours.

We will cover several techniques including the following:

• Safety when etching copper and brass
• Etching Brass and Copper
• Cutting Metal
• Shaping Metal including dapping and doming
• Templates
• Sealing copper and brass
• Creating your own ear hooks from wire

This is very much a student driven workshop with each participant able to design and create their own unique pieces.
