‘Multicoloured Mokume Gane’ Polymer Clay Workshop

Come and learn to create a multicoloured mokume gane veneer with Dani using several different techniques, including creating and using coloured gradients. She will also show you how to incorporate black and white into these stacks/veneers to make the colours ‘pop’.
Mokume Gane is an ancient Japanese metalworking technique, meaning ‘wood eye’ or ‘wood grain’, by which layers of contrasting colored metals are fused together with heat and pressure and worked to produce a patterned mixed-metal sheet. Polymer clay artists have adapted this technique for use with their medium and it lends itself very well to polymer clay!
You will learn how to create polymer clay beads and components from your newly made pattern sheet ready for jewellery making.
Colours and patterns will be the choice of each individual student.
